Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 Migration

Move email, calendars, contacts and files from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, with security set up right and staff ready on day one.

Switching from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 is more than moving mail. Calendars, contacts, shared drives, permissions, sign-ins and the habits of everyone in the office all come along for the ride. We plan the move, migrate the data, set up Microsoft 365 the secure way, and make sure your team can work on the first morning after cutover.

What the project includes

  • Email, calendars and contacts. Mailboxes, folders and labels, calendar events and contacts moved for every user.
  • Files. Google Drive and shared drives moved to OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, organized so people can find things instead of recreating a mess in a new place.
  • Domain and mail flow. DNS and mail routing changed at the right moment, so mail keeps arriving during the switch.
  • Identity and security. User accounts, multi-factor authentication, sign-in protections and email security configured from the start.
  • Devices and apps. Outlook, Teams and OneDrive set up on computers and phones, with old Google sync connections cleaned up.
  • Sharing settings. Who can share what, inside and outside the company, set on purpose rather than left at the defaults.
  • Staff readiness. Short how-to guidance for the things people do every day, so the first week isn't spent asking where everything went.

Who it's for

Organizations moving to Microsoft 365 because they need the desktop Office apps, tighter security and compliance tools, or a single platform that fits how a growing business works. It's common for regulated businesses, where Microsoft 365 features such as Purview data loss prevention and sensitivity labels support the security and documentation work their industry expects.

How the work runs

  1. Discovery. We take stock of users, mailboxes, shared drives, groups, sharing and the third-party apps tied to your Google accounts.
  2. Plan. You get a migration plan: what moves, in what order, where files land, and when cutover happens.
  3. Microsoft 365 setup. The new tenant is configured, secured and licensed before any data moves.
  4. Data migration. Email, calendars, contacts and files are copied over in stages, with a final sync at cutover so nothing is left behind.
  5. Cutover. Mail flow switches to Microsoft 365, usually timed for an evening or weekend.
  6. First-day support. We're on hand as people sign in, so small problems are fixed in minutes.
  7. Cleanup. Once everything is confirmed, we help you wind down the old Google environment without losing anything you need to keep.

How long a migration takes depends on the size of the organization: the number of users, the amount of mail and files, and how shared drives are organized. We'll give you a realistic schedule after discovery. From you, we need admin access to Google Workspace and your domain's DNS, and a contact who can make decisions about how files should be organized.

What you get at the end

  • Every user working in Microsoft 365 with their mail, calendar and files in place.
  • MFA and sign-in protections on every account.
  • Email security and sharing settings configured on purpose.
  • Documentation of the new setup, including where each team's files now live.

After the move

Microsoft 365 needs ongoing care: new users, licensing, security alerts and settings that drift. Our cloud services team handles that day to day, and managed IT clients get it as part of their support.
